We stayed in the pyramid section of the hotel which is the older part, the rooms are looking a little worn but otherwise were fine, clean and tidy. We have just returned from a stay at the luxor hotel in las Vegas that we thoroughly enjoyed. Need I go on? STAY AWAY.AS FAR AWAY as you can!!!! Anyone would be happier in the Aladdin, Mirage, Venetian, NYNY, Monte Carlo, etc. I go to Las Vegas 2 to 3 times per year, and this BY FAR is the worst Strip hotel I have stayed at, including some of the older places such as Flamingo Hilton. Customer service was also lacking, and the price paid was a rip-off during a busy convention week. This hotel also lacked good signage, and it was hard to find ways to get around the awkwardly laid out facility. Worst of all, the smell of smoke from the casino below permeates into even the non-smoking rooms through the vents and hallways. Ventillation was non-existent, with a primitive and poorly functioning central heat and a/c system that had no real or modern thermostatic controls. The bedspreads were left wrinkled by an obviously indifferent housekeeping crew, beds were old and uncomfortable with cheap sheets and pillows. The Spa Suite we had was poorly lit and sorely in need of renovation. The Luxor is an overpriced, depressing place to stay on the Strip.
